I'm sorry it's taken me so long to write a new post in here. I kind of forgot about it for a while, and then I've been really busy. I've started exercising like crazy! I run Monday, Wednesday, Friday (and have for two weeks now) and I either swim or ride the stationary bike on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Now, I haven't done very much running in my lifetime, so I'm starting slow. That and I have asthma and am working on expanding my lungs so I can run farther/faster. Speaking of which, I've found that I have to not only work on increasing my distance, but my speed because of asthma and such. But I am making progress! The first day I started running at home was with melissa. It was pretty pathetic. We ran (if you could call it that) about 2.5 miles, but I could only run for a couple of minutes at a time, and then I had to take a break walking. Melissa was so patient and sweet to me about it. I was having asthma issues, but I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that I was running outside with all of the pollen because when I ran inside the next time, it was much easier. So anyways, I went from that day to running 2 miles without a break going 5.5 miles/hour on Friday. As far as the "cross training" days go, I really just wanted to swim on those days, but it's been rather cool in the mornings lately and therefore cold in the pool, so I am kind of waiting for the water to warm up for that.
Aside of exercising, I have officially started my Independant Study American Heritage class as of yesterday. I'm really glad that I'm doing it over the summer, becuase it's going to take a lot of reading and studying. I had another class like that last year (music civilization), and I always got behind in the reading, because other things took precedence. What's funny is that my professor is Grandpa Allen (Aunt Nancy's dad).
I've been having lots of fun on the weekends with double dates. Margaret and Shae have been dating (but not "officially"), and so the four of us go on lots of double dates. Double dates are the best, especially because we were all already good friends. Oh, it was kind of pathetic, last night we were going to have a "reunion" party with all of our friends (all 7 of us). Brewer's been bugging us about having a party because he wants to party and we've been going on dates instead, so we decided to have one last night. We were going to have it at Brewer's house, but his mom was having a seminary party, so we decided to go skating at the Arlington Skatium instead. Well...I couldn't get a hold of Malcolm, Katie Williams is in Utah, and for some reason Brewer didn't even come. So it ended up as a double date again. lol. It was a lot of fun, but it was just funny how that turned out.

That is exciting you have Grandpa Allen as your professor. He likes to see good work but he really likes to pass people too! You will do great!
I am so excited for you to take American Heritage!!! I don't know if I already told you this but after I took that class (I had the most incredible teacher ever!!!!), I wrote my teacher an email and told him that his class had changed my life. I still feel that way, it really did change my perspective on many things. I only wish that I could remember everything or even take the class again! :)
GOOD JOB on your running!!! I am so proud of you. Cory and I go running everyday after he gets home from work. We all go to Fletcher Park and the kids play on the playground while Cory and I each take a turn running the 3 mile track. Yesterday Cory did it in 22:40 minutes and I did it in my new record time of 25 minutes. I can go the distance but Cory is definitely all about the speed.
Hey Katie! Good to hear how you are doing this summer so far. I am just in Orem for the summer working at Ann Taylor retail and for Apple Orthodontix--doing really fun stuff like calling ins companies and patients for payments! Anyway good luck with the running!
