Okay. I can finally make a post. My parents were gone to Israel for a week and a half so my best friend, Margaret, stayed with me. It felt like we were roommaties in college, except that we were in a huge house instead of an apartment, and we were going to work every day instead of school. We had lots of good girl time talking, watching movies, dancing, singing, cooking, etc. It was a lot of fun, and it was really nice to have some company when my parents were gone. I hate being in our house alone because it's so dark and quiet and big.
Of course my mom had a list of a few things that needed to be done while they were gone (making sure the plants were watered, checking for packages, bringing in the mail, . . . ), but the one that I struggled with the most was taking out the trash. The first time I was supposed to, I didn't realize they came so early. I missed them by a few minutes. The next time, I completely forgot. Luckily I remembered the 3rd time, and the 4th I didn't bother because there wasn't much trash. But anyways, we went for a week without taking the trash. The first night we were alone, 2 people came pounding on the door unannounced late at night. It scared us so bad! They were people from church looking for my dad. One came at 9:30 and the other came at 10:30! I was really glad Margaret was there.
We cooked dinner almost every night. My mom gave me some grocery money before she left, so Margaret and I got together one day and planned our meals, made a grocery list, and went shopping for food. We found that some nights it was really a pain to come home from a long day of work tired, stressed, and starving, and then have to still make dinner, but it was a good learning experience.
This morning I went to pick up my parents from the airport and we've been sharing stories and such. It's nice to have them home. I missed them. It was kind of funny though because today is my mom's and my birthday, but it was kind of thrown off because of them coming home from Israel. They are experiencing major jet lag with the time change and the 14 or so hours of flying. Tonight I'm going on a double date to celebrate. It'll be way fun. I don't really know everything we're doing because it's a surprise, but I'll have to let you know how it goes.

Don't worry! It's a pain after having been home all day fighting (I mean, nurturing) kids, too! :)
