I know that I haven't written in here in over a month, but for a while I honesty forgot I even had a blog. Summer is almost over. I'll only be home for another month, if that. Kind of crazy that as long as these 4 months were going to be, they sure have disappeared fast! I am really excited to go back up to BYU, but I will of course miss everyone and everything here. Life has been pretty crazy trying to balance summer relaxation with working full time, practicing as much as possible, preparing for a recital, and studying for my class. I try to get a lot done while still making time to enjoy being at home.
I am having a recital next Sunday to perform the 1st 3 Bach Cello Suites that I have been learning/polishing this summer. I was going to have it right before I left (later in August), but we had to move it up because my teacher will be having surgery the day after my recital. I found this out last week, so I've been scrambling to finish the 3rd suite. I am really excited to have a recital though. I haven't had one since Sophomore year of high school, and it's always nice to have the closure of performing my pieces after learning them. Otherwise I just don't feel finished with them.
I read the new Harry Potter book last weekend, and without giving anything away, I absolutely loved it, and I still haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I want to read it again, but I figure I have a bout a million other books I was going to read this summer, so I should probably move on.
Robert and I have a really good friend (Curtis) who came to Texas to visit (mostly to visit his lady friend, but that's ok). So we're all going to get together tonight to eat some Texas barbeque and then we're going to the Gaylord where there's entertainment and such. I'm excited to see him. It's been a long time. He was one of Robert's roommates and a fellow music major so we were with him a lot up at school. Oh, and the girl he's visiting happens to be a distant cousin of mine. She's a Broadbent, and I actually met her at the airport on the way up for music auditions for BYU in January 2006. Anyways, she was in their ward up at BYU and Curtis and her hooked up. So tonight will be way fun.
Well, I need to get back to my practicing!

Yeah! You blogged! I can't believe that you are leaving in less than a month. We better get in some quality time in the next few weeks. You know, in your spare time! Can't wait to hear about your double date last night!
