< Here's our quartet. This is from Cathy Forbes's Christmas Recital. From the left: Jeanne Yu (Lamar High school, freshman), Kathryn Chin (Martin High school, freshman), me, and Christine Su (Martin High School, Junior). We are Cathy's high school violas and we all made All State this year. We call ourselves the Forbiolas. lol.
Today is solo and ensemble, and I'm having a lesson as well. I'll be up there at least 3 hours again. haha. I teach a lesson at 11:30, then I'm heading up to UTA about noon. Our quartet is warming up at 12:30 and then we play at 1:10. I'm having a lesson afterwards and then I'm going to listen to a cello choir Robert Qualls is in at 3:30. Yes, a cello choir. lol. It's pretty much a good sized ensemble full of cellos. It's cool. I've heard one before. And yes, Robert excells at Bass, not Cello, but ya know, he's a well-rounded musician. He also plays bass guitar and sings. At AHS he's in choir, jazz band, and orchestra. Anyways, then later Robert, Brewer, Margaret and I are going to a dance in Hurst that our stake was randomly invited to. It should be way fun. I love weekends!

bye Katie, sorry I didn't get to say good-bye when you left Dad says you said good-bye to me when I was out in the yard but I didn't hear you. Good luck at solo and ensemble, I'm sure I'll get to talk to you sometime today. We have a baptism at 4:00 so I'll see you after that hopefully. :D
Don't forget through all this busy-ness to enjoy the experience! (Hope you had "way fun" at the dance!)
Tonight we fed the missionaries and afterwards for their lesson they played the movie "The Touch of the Master's Hand". Have you seen it? If not, you need to get your hands on it. It was probably filmed in the 70's, but it is still really touching. Anyways, I thought about you the whole time. (it is all centered around a viola or maybe it is a violin). I can't wait to hear you play when I come in May!!!! Save a performance for me.
