Hello everyone!
Well, juries are coming up. Juries are our final exam for our private lessons/masterclasses. We have to play two pieces (one memorized) in front of a panel of music professors (in my case, the viola, cello, and bass professors), who grade your performance. So suddenly the past week or so, everyone who has been slacking off has decided to practice at night. Now I usually practice some during the day when possible, and some at night, but during the afternoon, lots of people practice. So now, there are lots of people practicing in the afternoon and evening, so I changed my schedule. I've been getting up at about 5:20/5:30 every morning to get a good hour to an hour and a half done of practicing. I've gone to bed around 9:30 every night as well. It's really nice to get most of my practicing done before my day even begins, but it is hard. I got sick yesterday, so I have a cold. It's pretty miserable, and was terrible timing. But hey, maybe this way I'll be better by the time I go home (I've been feeling it coming on the past few weeks and it just now hit). This week I'm preparing for my jury (which is Friday at 11:30), and I'm also recording a CD for an audition to the Aspen Summer Music Festival. I'm also preparing for finals. anyways, it's crazy around here.
oh, I have a cute story. On Fridays, Robert and I have Music Civ together at 8:00, and then I have music theory at 9:00. So this last friday, I was going to head over to his place after music theory and he was going to get showered and stuff while I was in class (he missed his alarm that morning). When i got to his place, he had Michael Buble turned up with the windows open, and he was making me breakfast! He made eggs, sausage, and toast. It was so sweet. Then after that he rubbed my feet! He is so sweet. I had been stressed and tired that morning, and that was just what I needed.
Oh, this weekend we had the Celebration of Christmas concert with all the choirs. It was sold out months in advance. We had concerts friday night, saturday afternoon and saturday night. The choir sang their songs, there was intermission, we played, and then we played two pieces with every choir (somewhere around 500 choir people). They had us on the stage as close to the front as possible, and then risers behind us filled with choir ppl. Then along the walls on the balcony and floor, were more choir ppl. It was amazing. I've been waiting so long to play in the BYU orchestra with the choirs singing with us. I loved it even thoughI was also sick, so I was miserable and tired. lol. well, I have to leave pretty soon for my meeting. I can't wait to come home!!

Wow, good luck with your jury, it sounds pretty intense. I know that you will blow them away. I can't believe that you get up at 5:30 am to practice your viola. Wow, you never cease to amaze me!!! :) Love ya!
