aahh, relief...

I am so glad this week is over! I do still have to take my Music Civ Exam, my Family life exam, and I have another preview and performance for the opera, and I need to do my visiting teaching this week, and I have to set up two practices with my accompanist (one of which in a lesson with Dr. Bigelow, which may put me at two lessons this week), but....lol, I somehow feel better about this week than last. haha. I got a 91 on my BOM exam, a 91 on my music civ ID test (that was a shock!), and a B- on my sight singing pace test (not that great of a grade. I got really nervous and stressed and completely messed up one of them, but the other ones I did well on). The opera is almost 3 hours long, straight through with intermission. It is sooo tiring, but fun. Unfortunately, unless the singers come close to the edge of the stage, we can't really see anything because we're in an actual pit. Unlike musicals, operas are mostly music and less dialogue, so we pretty much play almost the whole opera. Robert and I are going to see the opera on Saturday night (the last night). I'm so excited! oh, and all my roommates are coming to see it on Friday when I play! I'm feel so special! Homecoming was waaay fun!! Friday night, Robert and I went to dinner at Red Brick Oven (we got the feast for two. it's amazing. salad, breadsticks, pasta, pizza, and cookies), then we went to the homecoming spectacular (vocal point and synthesis were amazing! oh, andrea, sheri dew was the announcer. lol. I thought of you), then we went to the jazz/swing dance. That was fun. Part way through it, the Swing Kids did a performance and then they went into the garden court (this is in the Wilk), to teach the Charlston for those who so desired. Robert and I went and learned. It was soo fun! We want to learn to swing dance together, and become amazing at it! Then we left a little early to go to the creamery to get ice cream, and finished the evening with the movie, "That Thing You Do". It was the best date ever!!! Anways, I have to go to Ward Council soon, so I better go!

I am so glad that you made it through last week. There are many times in my college years when I felt so overwhelmed and I felt like there was never enough time to get everything done, but if you always make sure that you are putting Christ first then according to Sheri Dew, it doesn't matter what comes next because it will always be right. One other thing, when I tutored, we taught students a lot about how to study a textbook and/or notes effectively without spending forever doing it. There are so many little techniques you can do while studying that will shorten your study time. I know you are an excellent student, but I know that the study skills really helped me study more effectively especially when I had SOOOO much reading and tests every week over all my reading material in every class.

Anyways.....so have you dated any other guys yet? Okay, I'm sorry but here is your older sister talking.....DON'T LIMIT YOURSELF TO ONE GUY!!!!! This is the time in your life to date every guy you possibly can so that you will 1. have tons of fun and variety 2. go on lots of different kinds of dates 3.meet lots of people and make friends on double and group dates 4. so you will know what kind of guy you are looking for (or not looking for). I know that Robert is a great guy, but for the 1st time in your life you have a million good LDS boys to date!!!

I love you and I am so proud of you!!! I wish I could hear you play in your opra this weekend. That is so sweet of your rooomates to go and listen to you play. I hope you have a great week.

Congrats on your great grades - not that I'm surprised! And I'm glad that you got to have a break and have so much fun on homecoming.

I'm not going to comment on the dating issue yet. I want to think on it a little more. I'm obviously coming from a COMPLETELY different perspective than Melissa. So...

Have a great week!
