Good Morning Maxfield

Robert and I really wanted to go to a concert this Friday night. We had heard about it from some friends who love the band. They are a group of 7 BYU students, and most of them (if not all) are music majors. We knew some of them just from living in the HFAC. They are called Good Morning Maxfield, and their genre is Folk Rock. When I first heard that, I was like, "what the heck is that? that sounds weird", but we listened to a couple of songs on their website and loved them, and we decided we had to go. Well, Friday rolled around, but we realized that we had a Chamber concert that night. We were so upset, because we had really wanted to go to this concert. Robert talked to our friends who are crazy about the band and they said they were going after the concert because they weren't supposed to play until 9 or 9:30. So we got a ride with them. It was soo much fun! There were a bunch of people there from Phil and Chamber, and ya. It was a really good concert. I even caught a free t-shirt that they threw to the audience! and I bought a CD. lol. So anyways, we had a blast. Oh, and this was my first non jazz or classical concert ever! The place that they played is called Velour and it's dedicated to local bands like them to come play and sell their CD's and whatnot. It's funny because any place like that outside of Utah would have crazy, weird people who are drinking and smoking and such, but at this place all they sold was water and coke (oh my goodness, I almost said soda), and everyone there were modest and mostly BYU students. It was awesome.

That was your first non-classical/jazz concert?????? Wow, I am very proud of you for trying something new. :) You are so cute!! Don't worry you will be saying soda in a year or two. :)

Sounds like a lot of fun! That is one of the great things about being at BYU - being surrounded with people who have the same values/beliefs that you do. Which (ideally) means you don't have to be able people who are smoking, drinking, being vulgar, etc.

Oh, and you better not come back here talking like a Utah girl! :) Are you saying, "Oh my heck!" yet?
